The medianoche is a small brioche bread sandwich whose origin dates back to a time when late-night parties with music and dancing were called saraos.

At those saraos, it was customary to serve, after a reasonable time following dinner (which was held much earlier than it is today), a selection of small bites as a treat for the guests. The most elegant were those that combined sweet and savory: milk rolls, or suizos, split lengthwise into two halves with something savory placed between them. These mini sandwiches were served around midnight, and so they came to be called, quite fittingly, medianoches, which is the plural form of the name. Our medianoches are the perfect bite at any time of day. The contrast of the sweetness of the brioche, combined with the savory fillings we offer, gives them a delicious flavor that is always welcome. They are presented on a tray of 12 units.
